下一次市集将和小毛驴市民农园合作，作为他们4月16 日开锄节的配套活动同时举行。届时将有20多家北京本地的农户、食品作坊、环保和三农NGO、艺术家和音乐家前来参加。您不但可以买到健康、有机、环保的农产品，还可以品尝到我们用有机食材制作的中西式美食、甜品和饮料（数量有限，欢迎您自带餐具）。同时，您还能在市集上了解与食品安全、环保、可持续生活相关的信息，让您吃得更放心，生活更低碳。市集志愿者的小厨房收入将会捐给日本和云南盈江地震灾区。欢迎您来市集了解更多我们在两地合作的NGO的工作。

Without knocking the door they came. Ripped rooftop and started to shovel into our house. NOOOO! oh no no no, very scared and didn’t know what was going on but knowing  had to escape from their hand, so went into dark dark spot but much faster and stronger, they were catching my mom and babies and friends… did not have time to say good bye…….then all the sudden, rooftop came back and being quite again… (a red worm from Gloval Village, environmental NGO in Beijing)

Dealing with food waste in city so full of concrete that you cannot rely on natural soil/microorganism to break it down (or a pig to eat them). We are experimenting 4 different compost to make fertilizer and soil. EM compost, cardboard compost and food waste just mixing with soil. Got red worms for worm compost, there are 20 adults and many small bits living there right now. Everyday on the news about Japan, that polluted vegetables and water are found even polluted water running into the ocean. Fukushima prefecture told all the farmer in this area to postpone their seeding process, prefectural assembly investigate for the possibility of soil pollution. All the milk got to discard and domestic animals has to be kept inside. Things are up side down. Many people on the stricken area are lacking for food, Disaster relief network (Donations we collect at the HomeShop, Country Fair go to here) are making 1000 and more food everyday on the spot. When water, soil, air and seeds get contaminated (I guess already has been) what can you do? …..Though, its not all down turn, you can always find a way around and get by, like this and this.

In accordance with old folk customs for marriage, the opening of a granary, move into a new home or other important rites—as well as the just timeliness of the pending new year to replace the old—we should perhaps consider the slaughter of a chicken or bull, an offering of blood to the heavens and the lighting of incense to honour our ancestors. But having long departed from the olden days, and ghosts and goblins still drifting about, now the time has come to give a fine-tuning to all customs—to set the demons and monsters straight.

We welcome you to HomeShop on Sunday afternoon, the 23rd of January for an improvisatory ceremony to musically usher in good spirits and begin a rhythmic paranormal topology of our new site in the Beixinqiao neighbourhood. Rites will be followed by a hot vegetable god meal served by Bento AIKUN master Emi UEMURA.

The concert is free; dinner is RMB 30 per person including sushi, soup and other offerings.

种植天然、有机蔬菜的农民与北京的消费者之间依然缺乏链接, 部分农民存有多余的有机产品, 而市内的消费者却不知道如何享用到天然食物。

我们的设想是在当地农贸集会上进行一些试验, 让消费者即可以支持当地农民, 又能了解到市场上有哪些选择, 以及怎么成为一名负责任的城市消费者。

我们会邀请当地种植天然、有机食物的农民们参加资讯分享, 并交流有关宣传, 包装, 运输等方面的经验. 我们的小店也可以作为短期的销售点，农民可以在店里寄卖蔬菜作为练习. 同时我们还在考虑如何在农民与艺术家之间产生有关农业和食物的对话。

昨天在植村絵美发起的集市上，菜农段的女儿徘徊在自己爸爸的有机产品前(上!)。

我们尽力为“胡同儿”贡献三个有机农产品生产者和他们的产品（芳嘉园，德润屋，和圣林生态农庄）的努力，最终阵亡在阵阵刺耳的批判声中：“谁会相信你啊！哈？你们这帮人真的是在这里做生意的吗？这些资料真的是你们的吗？现在人人都可以从网上下载这些东西……” “不信任”成了我们最主要的问题，一个泡沫塑料箱子，一台生锈的三轮车，两个在街头销售产品的乱头发女孩，显然不是能让精明而警惕的路人信服的包装方式。吴以楠不怕：“没关系，我的皮很厚!” 这一点菜农在我们动身出发的时候就已经提醒过我们，他们知道自己的劳动是一个腐败、贪婪、丝毫不关心人们健康和安全的违规满的市场的一抠抠儿。但没关系，我们皮厚厚地坚持了一天，于是我们做了一个小小的实验，只卖了很少的产品，但让少数人注意到了我们的集市，并且对公众对于与街边小贩、农产品市场和市场美学的态度做了一点田野调查。

Our meagre efforts to hit the hutongs with goods from three of the city’s organic producers—芳嘉园 Farmer DUAN, 德润屋 DERUNWU and 圣林生态农庄 SUNLIN Farm—result in harsh critical criticism: Who’s going to trust you? Ha! Are you guys making any real business here? What kind of printed material do you have? Anyone can download something from the internet. Mistrust is the major issue here, and a styrofoam box, rusty tricycle and two bed-headed sales girls are just not the right kind of packaging to convince wise-cracking passersby. The farmers warned us when we set out, as they know that their work is niche of the niche within a market overrun by corruption, greed and little personal concern for general health/safety. Sunday says, “It doesn’t matter. I have a hard heart.” And so we embarked upon a little experiment, selling very little but pointing a few people towards the fair and engaging in a bit of field work about public attitudes towards street sellers, the produce market and marketing aesthetics.

“集市”是一个关于食物和城市农业的正在进行中的教育项目。它包含两部分：农民市场和一系列小项目。农民市场从北京自然/有机农业生产者和消费者之间的直接交易所产生的需求中发展出来。然而，这里仍旧存在着一个巨大的鸿沟，一些生产者产出过剩的有机产品，与此同时，一些消费者却不知从何买到绿色食品。“集市”便是这样一个平台，农民和消费者组建网络，最重要的是，他们还可以在城市中分享彼此的经验。这将使我们在饮食习惯、选择及行为上获得新的认识，继而成为一名合格的城市消费者，我们也相信，这将鼓励并使当地农民未来的生产获得收益。同样，我们组织小型讨论、演示、行为和工作坊，也带有教育的目的。

Country Fair is an ongoing educational endeavor, both a farmers’ market and a series of projects and lectures related to urban agriculture. It was developed out of the need to connect natural/organic farmers and consumers in Beijing.  Many farmers have an oversupply of produce, yet few consumers know how to begin a more natural way of eating.  The Country Fair serves as a platform for to learn about responsible urban practices and to demonstrate how the market works in Beijing: understanding distribution and consumption patterns will support farmers in their future practice.

Studio-X（哥伦比亚大学建筑、规划与历史保护研究院）是本次“集市”项目的合作方。关于农业的观念和城市空间的认识，以及本地食品如何进入城市的讨论，将在这个空间内进行。在本次会议中，我们还将绘制一张配送地图，以便更好地认识整个路线、可能超负荷的区域、环境问题，最简单的目的则是认识食物是如何配送的。

On November 27, the Country Fair will take place at Studio-X Beijing (Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation) – a multi-purpose space to engage with the fields of urban planning and development – and will include collaborative activities to explore how locally produced food comes into the city. During the day-long event, farmers and professors will speak about the policies that shape rural agricultural practices, and participants can contribute to digital map visualizing how food circulates in the city.
